Trouble connecting to the internet

By , July 8, 2014

If you are experiencing trouble connecting to the internet, before you call a technical support specialist, the first thing to do is always to restart your computer. This will fix many issues.

If it’s not fixed, the next thing you can try is power cycle your networking equipment to. To do this, you will need to unplug the power cable for both the modem and the router.
Make sure all the lights on the device go off, wait a couple of minutes, and then plug it right back in. The power cable is usually a round, black cable, and it will lead to a power plug on the end.
The other cables in these devices are network/Ethernet cables. Don’t unplug the network cables, it can be difficult to put them back in the correct ports, but you can check to see if they are securely plugged in.
Sometimes the clips on the network cables break, and they need to be replaced. I always have extra cables on hand to replace broken ones when I am on a service call.
Once you are connected to the internet, I can perform most computer repair services and technical support services including virus removal, malware and spyware removal, trojan virus removal, and remote diagnostics.
If you cannot get connected to the internet, don’t worry, we can schedule an appointment for me to come fix your issues in person, as your tech support specialist.
